New Year's Day Bird Droppings

They won't cure your hangover. Sorry. But read 'em anyway. It'll build character!

So, uh, Royals...now that you have Miggi to handle 3B the O's would be happy to take a Moustakas off your hands.

I hope everyone had a fun, spirited, and most importantly, safe, New Year's celebratory festivity. And with the turning of the calender, the magic of the Orioles 2012 season fades slightly more into mere memory. And the stats oriented will tell us that such magic will not repeat in 2013. Will they win 16 straight extra inning games? Probably not. Will they go 29-9 in one run games? Again, probably not. But magic there will be. It is, after all, the Oriole Way. So I say, buggar those who seek to harsh our buzz, man. Crank up the Journey, and 'Don't Stop...Believing!'

Or maybe I'm just still loopy from last night. Probably. 41 days until Pitchers and Catchers report! 53 days until the first Spring Training game! 91 days until the O's open the 2013 campaign in Tampa Bay! 95 days until Opening Day at OPACY! Exciting....though still entirely too far off....

Five ballparks you must see in spring training | CSN Baltimore

Never been down to spring training, myself. Won't be going this year either, but perhaps I'll make it a priority for 2014.
