NLDS Game 5 Open Thread: Pirates @ Cardinals

The decisive game of the National League Division Series between St. Louis and Pittsburgh takes place tonight in the home of the Cardinals. Gerrit Cole starts against Adam Wainwright.

Every time I've paid even cursory attention to the Pirates this season, they have reminded me a lot of last year's Orioles. The out of nowhere contention after years of suckitude, the nature of their success, and now here they find themselves in Game 5 of a Division Series, on the road, facing the other team's best pitcher. They might win or it might all come to nothing.

Can rookie Gerrit Cole keep his cool on the road and out-duel probable Cy Young runner-up Adam Wainwright, who has been there and done that many times before? This is a game unlike any Cole has pitched in his young career, and unlike any that most of the Pirates roster has ever faced before.

The game airs on TBS, with the first pitch scheduled for 8:07 Eastern.
