GameThread 3/10: WBC Games and Pirates @ Orioles

Let's Go O's! And also, USA!

USA TODAY Sports

MLB Network has another full day of WBC games being broadcast. Starting right about now is Spain @ Venezuela, a game that doesn't matter much to anyone other than those two teams. They are both 0-2 and won't move on to the next round, but with a win either team can qualify for the next WBC without having to participate in the qualifying rounds.

If you missed it, the Netherlands lost to Japan 16-4 which means Japan is assured a spot in the final round. The Netherlands will face Cuba tomorrow with the loser eliminated from the tournament. Go team Schoop!

Coming up at four o'clock is today's biggest WBC game. United States takes on Canada with the loser going home and the winner moving on to round two. That'll be followed by the Dominican Republic vs Puerto Rico at 7:30. Both of those teams have already secured a spot in round two, but will be playing for the top seed.

As for the Orioles, they'll be taking on the Pirates at home today in split squad action. The game will be broadcast on the radio on 1090AM/MLB GameDay Audio. Starting pitcher for the Orioles is Miguel Gonzalez. Here are your lineups:
