Baltimore Orioles Spring Training Injury Updates - 3/16/13

A look at where the current batch of injured players stand.

USA TODAY Sports

Chris Tillman
Tillman was scratched from his scheduled start back on March 10th with abdominal soreness and hadn't pitched since until today when he went two innings in a minor league game. According to Steve Melewski, it sounds like Tillman's outing today went well and in his next start he could be bumped up to five innings. So good news on the Tillman front. If he doesn't have any further setbacks I imagine he'll be fine to be in the rotation for Opening Day.

Nolan Reimold
Reimold was taken out of the game early on March 3rd and hasn't played in the field since, though he has been DH'ing regularly (as regularly as people play in ST). Word on the Twitter today as well as from Joe Angel on the radio this afternoon is that Reimold is progressing and will most likely play in the Orioles game on Tuesday. That's tentatively good news, but I'll feel better when he's played in a number of games and is feeling good.

Nick Markakis
Paul Casella from MLB.com wrote yesterday that Nick Markakis is progressing, whatever that means. He has a few more days on the medicine pack he's been taking, and then he'll be reevaluated by the doctor. So basically we don't know anything other than resting has made him feel better than he used to, but we won't have any additional information on his possible return until sometime next week when he sees the doctor.

Tsuyoshi Wada
Wada threw a successful bullpen session on Thursday and has been cleared for additional pitching activities. He's still on track to return by the end of May.
