GameThread: Opening Night - Texas Rangers @ Houston Astros, 8;05pm

Are you watching tonight's game? If so chat here.

Bob Levey

Sadly, the Baltimore Orioles aren't playing tonight. But there is major league baseball on television for the first time in a long time, so I know a lot of you will be tuning in to see the battle of Texas. It, of course, pits one of the worst teams in baseball, the Houston Astros, against one of the best teams in baseball, the Texas Rangers. For the first time ever those two teams are playing in the same division so I'm sure the powers that be would love to see a fierce rivalry. Something tells me that if that is ever to happen, the Astros will need to get a heck of a lot better.

PItching for the Rangers tonight is lefty Matt Harrison, for the Astros is Bud Norris. Norris isn't a great pitcher, but he's the best the Astros have to offer at this time. Harrison is coming off of two very good seasons in a row, though I think as a pitcher he kind of flies under the radar when you're thinking about good pitchers in the league.

Here are your lineups:

Lineup

TEXAS RANGERS HOUSTON ASTROS
Ian Kinsler - 2B Jose Altuve - 2B
Elvis Andrus - SS Brett Wallace - 1B
Lance Berkman - DH Chris Carter - LF
Adrian Beltre - 3B Carlos Pena - DH
David Murphy - LF Justin Maxwell - CF
Nelson Cruz - RF Jason Castro - C
A.J. Pierzynski - C Matt Dominguez - 3B
Mitch Moreland - 1B Brandon Barnes - RF
Leonys Martin - CF Ronny Cedeno - SS

There are a few things that I'm going to ask that you don't talk about in this thread, and that's even with the spoiler quotes. They are the season finale of The Walking Dead and the season premiere of Game of Thrones. There are a lot of people on this site who watch one or both of them and I don't want anyone to get inadvertently spoiled when they just stopped in to say something about the game. Thanks for your consideration.
