How did the farm do tonight? Well, Norfolk and the Shorebirds won, the others did not. But how did the prospects do?

Tim Berry struck out 11 in 6 IP tonight! Ready for Bowie?

The aforementioned Tides won 3-2. Jonathan Schoop went 1-4. Russ Canzler went 2-4 with a double with 2 strikeouts. LJ Hoes and Lew Ford DNP. Freddy Garcia had a strong start going 7.2 IP giving up 1 ER on 4 hits, striking out 3 with a wild pitch and a GB/FB of 14/2 (!). He needed 96 pitches to get two outs into the 8th.

Bowie gave up 5 in the 9th and lost 8-3. Stealth prospect Devin Jones yielded 3 ER in 5 IP on six hits and a walk, striking out 3 with a GB/FB of 7/3. Jones is the former reliever the Orioles are trying to convert to a starter. Xavier Avery went 1-3 with a double, 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. It was Avery's sixth double of the young season. Ty Kelly went 0-3 with a sac fly. Johnny Ruettiger went 1-4.

Frederick lost 7-1. Tim Berry missed some bats tonight, though gave up 4 ER in 6 IP on 4 hits (1 HR) while striking out 11 (!) and posting a GB/FB of 2/3. Jesse Beal didn't have it, giving up 3 ER in 2.1 IP on 5 hits and a walk while striking out 3. Nicky Delmonico went 0-4 with a K. Glynn Davis went 0-4 with a K and was removed for a PH. Brenden Webb went 0-4 with 3 Ks.

The Shorebirds proved victorious winning 9-4 today. Juan Guzman, a pitcher I have been following, had a rough go of it, giving up 3 ER in 3.2 IP on six hits (1 HR) and hitting two men (walking none), striking out 7 with a GB/FB of 0/2. He certainly can miss bats, but it looks like he needs quite a bit of polish. Matt Hobgood went 2 scoreless again, pitching around a hit and a walk, striking out 2, with a GB/FB of 4/0. Adrian Marin went 2-5. Joel Hutter went 0-3 but was hit twice. Torsten Boss went 1-4 with a walk and a K.
