Quick Recap: Baltimore Orioles 7, Tampa Bay Rays 4

The Baltimore Orioles picked up on where they left off last season with a victory over the Tampa Bay Rays. The Orioles started off strong against David Price thanks to a two-run home run by Matt Wieters in the first, but then squandered multiple opportunities against the Rays' ace and couldn't extend their lead.

Jason Hammel was up and down in his first ever Opening Day start, and ultimately he got through six innings and allowed three runs. The third run put the Orioles down by a score of 3-2, but a huge 7th inning against Jake McGee that featured a two-run double by Adam Jones and a three-run homer by Chris Davis put the Orioles ahead to stay.

Adam Jones had three hits and looked fantastic today. The two times he was retired were on very hard hit balls that required some good defense by the Rays. Matt Wieters had a double and a home run to go with two walks, and "new" guys Nolan Reimold and Brian Roberts also added two hits each.

Feel free to chat about the game here in these comments, but check back later for a full recap which will include the first Most Birdland Player poll of the season.
