With an off-day, the O's would need the help of others in order to gain any ground in the suddenly tightening AL East. Only the currently 1st Place Yankees were in action, playing a double-header in Cleveland. The Tribe managed to split the DH, so the O's, while not gaining any ground also did not lose any ground. So...meh. The Yankees offense is about what one might thought it would be so far this season. Not particularly good. They rank 9th in the AL in runs scored. But they are managing to find their success via strong pitching and defense, having yielded the 3rd fewest runs in the AL. The O's are the polar opposite of the MFY in those rankings: 3rd in Runs Scored in the AL, 9th in Runs Allowed.

Disappointed, yet not the least bit surprised, to not see the O's associated with any of these names. Doesn't mean the club won't sign any of them. But it would be nice to hear of the O's making some noise in Latin America for a change.

Today is the birthday of Dennis 'El Presidente' Martinez, as well as Rod 'Father of Nick' Delmonico and injury plagued former prospect Tyler Townsend.
