Around the Minors: 5/15/13

The affiliates go 2 for 4, with the Tides and the Baysox winning while the Keys and the Shorebirds lost. But about those prospects?

Norfolk won 10-1. Josh Stinson, who is still something of a mystery to me, gave up 1 ER in 6 IP on 8 hits striking out 5 with a GB/FB of 6/3. LJ Hoes went 1-3 with a walk. Jonathan Schoop apparently has a lower back strain. Russ Canzler goes 3-5.

The Baysox won 10-3. Eddie Gamboa gave up 3 ER in 5.1 IP on 4 hits and 3 walks with a GB/FB of 7/2. It's worth noting the lack of homers given up and the ground balls for the aspiring knuckler. Henry Urrutia went 2-3 with a double and a walk. Xavier Avery went 1-3 with two walks, a stolen base and two strikeouts. Ty Kelly went 2-4 with a walk.

The Keys gave up single runs in the 8th and 9th and lost 3-2. Tyler Wilson gave up 1 ER in 7 IP on 3 hits and 2 walks, striking out 6 with a GB/FB of 6/5. Nicky Delmonico went 1-3 with a double, a walk and a K. Christian Walker went 0-4. Brenden Webb went 1-3 with a double, a walk and 2 Ks.

The Shorebirds lost 4-3. Parker Bridwell gave up 3 ER in 5 IP on 7 hits and 5 walks (!), striking out 2 with a GB/FB of 5/4. He also hit a man and threw a wild pitch. Mychal Givens returned to the mound after a month long absence and threw a clean inning, inducing 3 ground outs. Adrian Marin went 2-3 with a walk and a CS. Joel Hutter went 0-3 with a walk and a K and a CS.
