Orioles GIFs of the Week

It has been a disappointing week for the Orioles. But somehow taking samplings of those bad games, converting them into animated images, and voting on them makes things just a bit better.

Joy R. Absalon-USA TODAY Sports

It's Monday again, and Orioles fans desperately need to get our minds off actual baseball, fraught with sadness and bitter disappointment. Viewing and voting on GIFs improves one's general sense of well-being and the feeling of being in control of one's personal destiny, according to an unpublished study by this writer. Let's get to it!

HAMMEL VS DUBBLE BUBBLE

One of the many valued members of the Camden Chat community pointed out that this one was missing from last week's GIF roundup. It turns out that this is even more appropriate for this week. Thanks 3r1c.

CASILLA WANTS HIS FIST BUMP

A third base coach has a number of responsibilities - sending or holding runners, relaying signs, telling runners when to tag up, and so on. Another one is that he must give a runner a fist bump when he reaches third base. A runner is entitled to a bump even if he advances from second to third on a GIDP. If you steal second and scramble to third on the same play, putting the go-ahead run 90ft from home, and get your jersey dirty in the process then damn right you get a fist bump.

Bobby Dickerson was derelict in his duty in this instance, to the point where Alexi Casilla was forced to insist. He eventually obliged with a half-hearted, distracted bump. Sheesh. That's nearly as egregious as withholding a home run hand-shake/high-five/fist-bump with optional butt pat.

ADAM JONES CATCH

Look at that! There were actually some good things that happened, including Gold Glove CF Adam Jones robbing a possible home run. Also see Chris Tillman's reaction.

MANNY PLAYS HARD TO GET

If you want that out you're going to have to chase Manny for it. Turns out that Manny wasn't just trolling the Padres here because Steve Pearce was rounding third and crossed home plate a few moments after the out was recorded. Allowing the runner to score would have produced another clip for the Extreme Heads Up Baseball with Manny Machado video compilation. Didn't quite work so it just landed in the LOLs bin.

ANOTHER THOR HOME RUN

Let's end on a positive note - Chris Davis crushing a ball with a pink bat.

That's it for this week. Don't forget to vote below. Follow @OriolesGIFs for all of the GIF action all week long. Retweet some stuff. Send me your requests by tweeting at that handle. Thanks for watching!
