Around the Minors: 6/10/13

The affiliates continue to be hampered by the weather, going one for three with Delmarva being rained out. Norfolk won, while the Keys and the other DSLers losing. But things continue to get interesting on the farm if you ask me...

Hey do you remember 2010? Also, do you know of a rotation that could use a shot in the arm?

Norfolk topped a pretty impressive Indianapolis team, 2-1. Zach Britton had another quality performance, giving up 1 ER in 6 IP on 4 hits (1 HR) and two walks, striking out 5 with a GB/FB of 10/2. The 25 year old is no doubt a victim of prospect fatigue among other things, but he continues to put the Oriole starters on notice. Xavier Avery would go 2-4 with a double and a K. LJ Hoes goes 2-3 with 2 walks and a K. For the losers, Felix Pie would go 0-1, but even when he grounds out, he does so in adorable fashion.

Bowie was off today.

Frederick lost 2-1. Zach Davies only gave up 2 ER in 6 IP, but he did give up 7 hits and 4 walks while throwing a wild pitch, striking out 6 with a GB/FB of 6/4. Miguel Chalas followed him with 2 scoreless, striking out 1 while allowing 1 hit. Nicky Delmonico went 0-4. Christian Walker went 0-3 with a K. Brenden Webb went 2-3 with a K.

Delmarva was rained out.

The original DSLers DNP.

The other DSLers lost 7-4. Ademar Rifaela went 0-5 with 2 Ks. 18 y/o Dominican Jose Rosario yielded 1 ER in 4 IP on 5 hits and a walk, striking out 3. The others have a player on their team named Lu Franc-Cito LeFranc, which maybe the coolest name I've ever seen, at least since Zech Zinicola.
