Norfolk lost 4-2. Tsuyoshi Wada improved, giving up 1 ER in 6.2 IP on 5 hits, striking out 8 and walking none, with a GB/FB of 7/4. LJ Hoes went 2-4 with a double. Xavier Avery went 0-4 with 2 Ks. Brandon Wood went 0-3 with 2 Ks and a sacrifice fly.

Bowie, Frederick and Delmarva were all off tonight.

In what I hope is not a harbinger of things to come, the iBirds were shutout, 5-0, while managing to commit more errors (3) than recording hits (2). 21 y/o righty Sebastian Vader gave up 2 ER in 5 IP on 4 hits, striking out 3, walking none and a posting a GB/FB of 11/2. 19 y/o one time Dominican bonus baby Hector Veloz went 1-3 with a double and 2 errors. On opening night, which iBirds are you excited about and why?

The original DSLers won 5-4. Rochendrick Alexander went 0-2 with a walk.

The other DSLers gave up 1 in the 8th, 1 in the 9th and 1 in the 12th losing 3-2. 19 y/o lefty Johalis Pacheco went 4 scoreless, giving up 2 hits and a walk, striking out 7 of the 16 he faced. Ademar Rifaela went 2-4 with 2 walks and a K. Ivan Mora went 2-5 with a double.
