Around the Minors: 7/15/13

The affiliates go six for seven on the Day, with only the Shorebirds losing. Good night on the mound, with Mike Wright, Tim Berry and Josh Hader pitching well, as did some of the kids in the lower levels.

Norfolk was off today.

Mike Wright led the Baysox to a 4-1 win. Wright went 7 IP giving up 1 ER on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 2 with a GB/FB of 8/10. Clay Schrader pitched a scoreless inning, striking out 1, allowing 1 walk. Oliver Drake pitched a clean inning, striking out 1.

Frederick won 12-2. Tim Berry gave up 1 ER in 5 IP on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 4 with a GB/FB of 8/2. Nicky Delmonico went 0-4 with a walk. Michael Ohlman went 0-3 with a walk and a K. Brenden Webb went 2-4 with a double and a walk.

Delmarva lost 1-0. Josh Hader had a nice start, throwing 5 scoreless on a hit and 2 walks, striking out 4 with a GB/FB of 8/3. Matt Hobgood gave up 1 ER in 3 IP on 2 hits and 3 walks, striking out 3 with a GB/FB of 4/0. The bats were pretty quiet, recording only 3 hits and 3 walks.

Aberdeen won 3-1. Steven Brault gave up 1 ER in 3 IP on 5 hits, striking out 2, walking none with a GB/FB of 3/2. Hector Veloz went 2-4 with a K. Mike Yastrzemski went 1-3 with a double and a walk.

The GCL Birds won 3-0. Josh Hart went 1-5. Jonathan Schoop went 2-3 with a double, a walk and a K. Ronarsy Ledesma went 2-4 with a homer.

The original DSLers won 10-3. 18 y/o Brazilian Rafael Moreno pitched 7.2 IP, allowing 3 unearned runs on 7 hits (1 HR), striking out 2, walking none with a GB/FB of 9/8. Victor Medina went 4-4 with a double.

The other DSLers won 7-2. 18 y/o rightie Francisco Jimenez went 6 IP, allowing 1 ER on 4 hits and a walk, striking out 2 with a GB/FB of 10/2. Ademar Rifaela went 1-1 with a double and 4 walks.
