As yesterday's trade for large mammal Mike Morse came across the wire, reaction across the twitterverse and blogosphere (ewww...did I really just write that?) was swift and almost decidedly harsh.
The most positive reaction was registered by Zach Mortimer of Baseball Prospectus...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>The <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23orioles&src=hash">#orioles</a> have done an exceptional job acquiring talent this trade season. If Morse helps them minimally than it is another trade win.</p>— Zach Mortimer (@ZachMort) <a href="https://twitter.com/ZachMort/statuses/373513029633445888">August 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

Camden Depot's Matt Kremnitzer struck a slightly different tone...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Sweet, another DH who isn't that good of a hitter. Welcome aboard, Morse.</p>— Matt Kremnitzer (@mattkremnitzer) <a href="https://twitter.com/mattkremnitzer/statuses/373514067941814272">August 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

Keith Law provided a response that was very Keith Law...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>Meh for meh? RT <a href="https://twitter.com/andy4jones">@andy4jones</a>: Morse for Avery. Has to be a win for the O's, right? Avery seemed like nothing more than a 4th OF.</p>— keithlaw (@keithlaw) <a href="https://twitter.com/keithlaw/statuses/373503527236022273">August 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

Long suffering Mariners fan Dave Cameron pithily addressed both sides of the transaction...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p>To be clear, saying Avery isn't a big leaguer isn't a knock against the trade. M's got what Morse is worth - nothing.</p>— David Cameron (@DCameronFG) <a href="https://twitter.com/DCameronFG/statuses/373507455495704576">August 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

Other reactions...
Scott Weber, Lookout Landing: Morse can be a tremendously dangerous hitter when he's hot and everything's clicking, but it rarely is. He'll be a free agent within two months, and somebody else will take a chance on his eternal tease. Farewell to the beast.
(h/t Casey Willett) Batting Stance Guy...
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p><-Baltimore, you've acquired greatest pre-pitch slo-mo Heisman pose stretch artist in history of O's. <a href="https://twitter.com/search?q=%23Morse&src=hash">#Morse</a></p>— Batting Stance Guy (@BattingStanceG) <a href="https://twitter.com/BattingStanceG/statuses/373535733216079872">August 30, 2013</a></blockquote>

In addition to his size and power, Morse is known as something of a character and is still much beloved in Washington. He is also known for having served three PED-related suspensions in his career.
