For the first time since 1997, the Orioles are in the American League Championship Series, which is enough to spur even your recalcitrant podcasters into doing a second podcast in the span of a couple of weeks. The Orioles are in the ALCS! It still hasn't gotten old to say it.

The O's plowed through the Cy Young winners on the Tigers, and now the speed demons of the Kansas City Royals await. Stacey and I break down some of the aspects of the series, including the fact that the Orioles are favored according to the Vegas oddsmakers. It's crazy.

Our thoughts on the different ways the Orioles and the Royals have succeeded - both kind of flying in the face of current mainstream baseball wisdom - and how they will interact with one another. Can the Orioles offense score on the Royals defense? Can the Royals speedsters run on the likes of Chris Tillman and Caleb Joseph? Bullpen comparisons, starting rotation comparisons, and most importantly, does Buck Showalter really give the O's that much of an edge over Ned Yost and his squad?
