After a wait that has lasted both days and 17 years, the ALCS is here in Baltimore. The Royals, who haven't been back to this plateau since 1985, are their opponents. There is nothing new to be said about this series - as is the tendency, every aspect has been dissected, chewed up, spit out, then chewed up again. You've heard it all. Now all that's left to do is play the games.
The weather report, as of a few hours before the scheduled first pitch, was supposedly favorable up until about 11pm. That would give roughly a three hour window to play the game without major weather interference. For teams who don't get on base a whole lot, that should be more than enough time. Knock on wood!
Here's hoping that when the dust settles tonight, the Orioles have a 1-0 lead in the series.
