Do you feel any better now that the Royals have finally lost a game? I do not feel any better. All I could do as I watched last night's drubbing was wonder why that couldn't happen against the Orioles. Stunning that when the luck on bloopers abandons you, you give up tons of runs and score few. Granted, the Orioles don't have a Madison Bumgarner of their own. More is the pity.
Would the Orioles have put up a better fight in that Game 1 against the Giants? Perhaps, perhaps not. It doesn't matter anyway, because we'll never know.
What we do know is that last night was the lowest rated World Series Game 1 ever. That's actually disappointing because it seems to point to the idea that people aren't interested if the big-market teams are not involved. Shame on the bandwagoners. Not that they missed a great game in any case. It was kind of a blowout. Maybe it'll be closer tonight, when the Giants have Jake Peavy pitching, rather than Bumgarner.
