Steve Melewski: A look at O's prospects who begin play today in Arizona Fall League

Jason Esposito hit a HR in his first AFL game. I'm beginning to wonder if he has regained legit 'prospecty' status due to his recent success both in the field and at the plate.

On this date in 1966, the O's defeated the Dodgers 1-0 thanks to a complete game shutout by Wally Bunker and a Paul Blair solo HR in the 5th inning to take a 3 games to None lead in the World Series.  In 1974, Jim Palmer gives up a solo HR to Sal Bando as the A's defeat the O's 1-0 to take a 2 games to 1 ALCS lead. In 1983 the O's break open a scoreless game by scoring 3 runs in the 10th to beat the White Sox and advance to their 6th World Series in 18 seasons. In 1997 the Birds take Game 1 of the ALCS from Cleveland, 3-0. In 2012, Wei-Yin Chen tosses 6.1 innings of 1 run ball as the O's even up their ALDS series with the Yankees, 1 game apiece.
