Rays @ Orioles spring training game thread, 1:05pm

A team resembling the Opening Day Orioles will take the field in Sarasota today, and it will be on MASN, to boot. Hooray! Baseball is the best, except for when it's the worst.

David Manning-USA TODAY Sports

It's been several days since the Orioles had a game broadcast on television that you can get in Baltimore, but that's being fixed on Wednesday. There are nine more Grapefruit League games, counting this one, and only two will be on MASN. Another one will be on MLB Network. Can the regular season just get here already?

David Lough remains out of the lineup with neck stiffness. We may start having to face the worrisome idea that Nelson Cruz will spend some, or even significant, time in the outfield in the regular season. I'm scared.

Opening Day lineup contest people, how confident do you feel in what you submitted as you look at today's lineup? It looks awfully plausible for what we might see in the regular season, especially if Lough remains unavailable. Other than Delmon Young's presence, I don't hate it. Well, unless Nick Markakis' extra muscle doesn't translate to results, then it will kind of suck. And does J.J. Hardy really belong in the #2 spot with his on-base percentage? There's always something.

Manny Machado's doctor's appointment - in which he hopes to get cleared to play - will be on Thursday at 12:30pm. Can he get ready for the start of the season if he's cleared then? We can dream.

This Rays lineup... man. This is a road spring training game lineup.
