Can you even call it a baseball game when Alexi Casilla is the leadoff batter? That's what you get in a road game in the waning days of the Grapefruit League. The game will not be televised and will not be on the radio in Baltimore. If you've paid up like good little boys and girls, you can listen to the Pittsburgh radio broadcast, but that's it.
A few of the players in the game, like Adam Jones and Nelson Cruz, are expected regulars who are just getting their at-bats in. Jonathan Schoop is looking to keep pressing his case to be the Opening Day second baseman. One game's performance probably won't move the needle much one way or another in that department, but it'd be fun if he hits like three home runs before being lifted for somebody like Buck Britton in the seventh inning.
Maybe you'll be watching basketball instead. I heard there's a big tournament going on. Is your billion-dollar bracket still intact? Do you have any big hopes for an upset in the night games? Big regrets from the early games?
If we're lucky, we might even hear good news about Manny Machado's knee while all of this is going on tonight.
