Orioles @ Yankees spring training game thread, 7:05

The Orioles travel to play the Yankees on Tuesday night and Cord Phelps is the starting third baseman, so that's how you know how serious things are. The game will be on MLB Network, though, so that's something!

It's not exactly a game that means anything, but there's still going to be something sad about the Orioles playing the Yankees and Brian Roberts is on the other team. He's batting cleanup tonight, as it turns out, which seems pretty weird. Then again, the Orioles cleanup hitter is Steve Clevenger. It's March 4. We're just shy of four weeks away from games actually mattering.

Here's the good news: Tuesday's game will be on MLB Network. Here's the bad news: the broadcast is going to be the YES Network's telecast of the game. It's going to also be on WBAL radio, though, so maybe you can sync the video and audio and be happy enough watching the collection of guys in Orioles uniforms who made the trip today. Many of them might even play at least one game for the Orioles at some point this year.

Still, it's Orioles baseball on TV on a weeknight. There may be snow on the ground outside. Summer's not far off, and the impending arrival of baseball goes to show it.
