It's the spring training debut of Ubaldo Jimenez, and as a bonus, the game will even be televised on MASN. Video will exist of the highest-paid pitcher in franchise history. No pressure or anything, Ubaldo. You've only got to beat the collection of guys the Phillies have sent on the road.
Look, if we're getting technical, Ubaldo doesn't even really have to beat them, because he's only going to throw like three innings and then it'll be other pitchers. MASN's Roch Kubatko says Brian Matusz and Miguel Gonzalez will trail Jimenez. At least a few innings of real Orioles pitchers! That's how you know spring training is starting to move along.
The Phillies starter is A.J. Burnett. Hopefully he won't hit anybody. He signed with the Phillies because he basically wanted no part of the AL East. Maybe the Orioles will give him a taste of why today. Not that it counts if they do, because it's an exhibition game, but hey, it's still the Orioles and it'd still be more fun if they win than if they lose. And since it's most of the expected regulars in the lineup, if they do well, you can even pretend the success will carry over into the regular season.
