Orioles off night sports thread: April 17

The Orioles are not playing on Thursday night, but other teams are. If you'd like to join in and comment on the rest of the action in the league today, this is the place to laugh, cry, or whatever else strikes your fancy. Is it a good night for your fantasy team?

Afternoon action that has already concluded:

Phillies 1, Braves 0. Ben Revere had the RBI single in the 8th inning to score Dom Brown for the game's only run. Alex Wood pitched a complete game for the loss, while A.J. Burnett only went seven and got no decision. Too bad.

Twins 7, Blue Jays 0. R.A. Dickey did not have a good day in what was reportedly the coldest game ever played in Minnesota outdoor baseball history.

Tigers 7, Indians 5. Ian Kinsler drove in four runs for Detroit. Miguel Cabrera went 2-for-4 with a double and is now batting .250/.294/.396 on the season. The Tigers owe him another approximately $282 million through 2023.

Rangers 8, Mariners 6. Neither team's starter completed the third inning, but the difference was that Texas's bullpen did not allow a run and Seattle's allowed three. Robinson Cano and Shin-Soo Choo each hit their first home run for their new teams.

The Dodgers led the Giants 2-0 after seven innings at the time of this writing, which may have changed by the time of its posting.

This is game two of a doubleheader, since these teams were snowed out or something the other day.

This looks like a good pitching matchup, doesn't it? Both managers will be hoping their starters can go deep into the game after a 14-inning affair last night. The White Sox were down to their last reliever in the 11th inning, which seems like some poor bullpen management.
