One of the hallmarks of the 2012 season is that the Orioles were never below .500, not even in the confused days at the beginning of the season when anyone can win or lose a couple of games in a row and find themselves in a strange place in the standings. That bubble was burst early in 2013. The O's will be looking to avoid having that happen early this season as well with a win tonight.
I mean, they should be looking to win every night, so that's really one of those meaningless sportswriter sentences. I hate myself for having typed it and am only not deleting it to make public the shame. Perhaps we should all say that if the Orioles win tonight they'll avoid falling under .500; the Orioles themselves probably aren't too worried about it.
Your breakdown of the game provided by Ty Young here. Jonathan Schoop is back in the lineup, so at least that's something. Well, we hope it's something because we hope he's good.
Matt Wieters and Adam Jones have sucked against Felix Doubront. So has J.J. Hardy. Encouraging signs. Wei-Yin Chen gives up lots of homers. Boston hits lots of homers. You know where this is going.
