Game 8: Orioles (2-5) @ Yankees (4-3), 1:05

Maybe Orioles baseball will start being fun again today. The odds aren't looking very good, though, because Delmon Young is batting second against the Yankees.

Well, this is turning out to be significantly less fun than we may have envisioned at one time. If you're looking for some comfort as we head into today's game, you will find little in today's lineup. J.J. Hardy's absence persists, meaning we've once again got a trio of Steve Lombardozzi, Ryan Flaherty, and Jonathan Schoop at the bottom of the lineup. Supposedly, he may be available today.

There's also Delmon Young batting second as your designated hitter against a right-handed pitcher. That may have something to do with the fact that he's faced Yankees starter Ivan Nova 13 times and has hit two home runs. One of these was even last year, so it isn't completely ancient history.

Chris Davis has hit three home runs as part of an 8-for-23, and even Matt Wieters has four homers off Nova while going 11-for-29 - which, as far as I can tell, would make Nova the only pitcher that Wieters can hit as a left-handed batter.

This is the last of the string of weekday day games at the beginning of the season, although in almost two weeks, there is a whopping 11:05 in the morning game, as the Orioles - of course - find themselves playing in the annual Patriots Day game in Fenway on April 21.
