The Shorebirds were off last night, but it was nothing but wins for the other Orioles affiliates.

Norfolk Tides 10, Charlotte Knights 3

The Tides offense broke out for 10 runs on 13 hits, three walks, and two errors by the other team. Though no home runs were hit, they managed eight doubles on the night. DH Xavier Paul and RF Fracisco Peguero were the big contributors, as each had three hits including two doubles. Paul also had a walk. 2B Alexi Casilla also doubled twice. Team Steve, Norfolk Chapter contributed a single to the cause with an RBI and a run scored.

Suk-min Yoon started the game for the Tides and pitched four innings, throwing 47 pitches. He gave up one run on a solo homer in the second inning, but had to come out early when the first batter of the fifth inning hit a liner off of his leg. You can watch it here if that's your thing. No news on the injury other than it's being called a lower leg contusion. To add insult to injury, the batter that hit him came in to score.

Nick Additon pitched three innings in relief of Yoon, and while he walked three and gave up two hits, the only run he allowed was the runner on first base when he came into the game. New Tide Heath Bell also pitched an inning and gave up a single, a walk, and a sacrifice fly. Preston Guilmet pitched a perfect ninth for the Tides.

Bowie Baysox 5, Erie Seawolves 1

LHP Jake Pettit pitched a great game against the Seawolves, going eight strong innings with just one run allowed. He walked one, hit a batter, and struck out only two, but his ground out to fly out ratio was 16/2. He gave up four hits, all singles.

2B David Adams had three hits for the Baysox, including a solo home run. LF John Ruettiger had a single and a double. C Michael Ohlman and CF Dariel Alvarez went 0-for-4, and 1B Christian Walker was 1-for-2 with two walks.

Frederick Keys 5, Myrtle Beach Pelicans 4

The Keys survived a late-inning rally by the Pelicans to hold on for the one-run win. The mysterious Joe Van Meter made another start, and while he only gave up two hits in his five innings, he also walked four. Both runs he gave up came on a home run in the second inning. Mychal Givens pitched the final two innings against the Pelicans gave up two runs in the eighth inning, also via a two-run homer.

CF Glynn Davis was given most of the night off, though he did come in as a defensive replacement late. SS Adrian Marin went 3-for-4, and DH Tucker Nathans and LF Michael Burgess each had two hits. CF Brenden Webb was 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. The only extra base hit in the game for the Keys was a double by Burgess.
