The Orioles have scored 15 runs in the last two games! Pretty good, right? The bad news is they have given up 17, resulting in two one-run losses. It's been ugly, friends. But perhaps tonight the Orioles will make a fresh start behind Bud Norris. It could happen! Hey, where are you going?
When/Where to Watch
Time/location: 7:05 p.m., Oriole Park at Camden Yards
TV: MASN (BAL), SportsTime Ohio (CLE)
Radio: WBAL 1090 (BAL), WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 (CLE)
Pitchers
T.J. House is making the start for the Indians tonight. In his major league career he as pitched just one inning, back on May 17th. He faced three batters and retired them all on ground balls. He needed 11 pitches. The 24-year-old lefty has made seven starts for the AAA Columbus Clippers, posting a 2.40 ERA while averaging just about six innings pitched. I don't know much about House (and by much, I mean anything), but it looks like he throws in the low 90s.
The Orioles are sending out Bud Norris to try and stop the bleeding by the pitching staff of late. Norris has been solid for the Orioles this season but has suffered at times from a lack of run support. Hopefully that will not be the case tonight, but with a rookie lefty on the mound against them their barrage of runs might come to an end. Norris is coming off of a game in which he gave up just one run in 7 2/3 innings but was stuck with the loss as the O's were shut out.
Lineups
Only two Indians have more than three plate appearances against Bud Norris (and one of them is Jason Giambi) and none of the Orioles have ever faced House. Here are your lineups for tonight: Over his career, Norris has struggled against lefties, but in the small sample size of 2014, lefties have just a .299 OBP against him. There are five lefties and one switch hitter in the Indians lineup tonight.
Manny Machado is out of the lineup after leaving early with a tight groin tonight. He hasn't been placed on the DL and is listed as a reserve. What that means, we'll just have to wait and see.
I think I speak for us all when I ask, "Who does Steve Pearce have to sleep with to get some starts over Delmon Young?"
Weather
The weather today was just perfect, and should continue into the evening. The temperature at game time will be about 72 degrees with no chance of precipitation. The winds will be about 13 mph or less, blowing L-R.
