It is Fireworks Night at Camden Yards on this Friday night that kicks off a holiday weekend. Let's hope that someone gives the Orioles hitters that memo as they face a guy making his first major league start in only his second game: T.J. House, who bears no relation to J.R. House, a terrible hitter who nonetheless excited random commenters on Roch Kubatko's old blog at The Sun in the mid-00s.
Preferably, the memo will not be received by Orioles starter Bud Norris. You do not need to participate in the fireworks, Bud. They will happen after the game. Maybe they will happen courtesy of Nelson Cruz or someone else during the game. Bud has been a pleasant surprise so far this year, something that I hope will continue to occur, rather than his suspiciously-low .253 BABIP catching up to him.
The last two games have had a lot of terrible moments, but there have also been some exciting ones. Less of the bad, more of the good, please and thanks.
