Last night sucked, and if the Orioles manage to lose to the re-animated corpse of Érik Bédard, well, that will suck even more. Monsieur Bédard has, not shockingly, found it difficult to go deep into games, having reached the 7th inning just once in his six previous starts. He is, however, not sucking in general, as his ERA is 3.83, which would fit in pretty nicely with the O's starting rotation.
Miguel Gonzales makes his return from the disabled list tonight. You may or may not remember that MiGo hurt his oblique while sleeping (well, probably during his last start, but whatevs) and awoke one morn to find soreness and discomfort where none had previously existed. Two bullpen sessions later, he's deemed fit to return to action, and will take the mound tonight.
The Orioles have had eight straight Quality Starts and have parlayed that into a .500 record over those eight games. Here's hoping Miguel Gonzalez continues the streak and the offense find their bats.
