Hunter Harvey and Zach Davies both had the fifth inning blues last night.

Norfolk Tides 14, Scranton/WB RailRiders 7

Kevin Gausman was pulled after one inning last night in anticipation that the Orioles will need him to pitch this weekend in Baltimore. His lone inning was a rough one, with two hits and walk. Unfortunately one of those hits was a three-run homer. After he left the game it was a bullpen affair with three innings each pitched by Edgmer Escalona and Brock Hutzinger (each gave up two runs), and two scoreless innings from Chris Jones.

The Tides scored 14 runs without a homer, but did have five doubles and five walks. It was a big night for 3B Brett Wallace who went 4-for-5 with a walk. RF Francisco Peguero had three hits, including two doubles. 1B Chris Marrero and SS Alexi Casilla also had three-hit games.

Team Steve update: Steve Clevenger went 2-for-4 with a double and two walks. Steve Lombardozzi didn't start the game but came in as a late inning replacement. He was hitless in one at bat.

Bowie Baysox 2, New Hampshire Fisher Cats 7

Zach Davies gave up six hits in 4 2/3 innings, and five of them came in the fifth inning, when he gave up all six runs he allowed. Three of his four innings before that were 1-2-3, but two home runs (one inside the parker), a double, two singles, and a walk drove him from the game.

Only four Baysox had hits last night. 3B David Adams and 2B Niuman Romero had two hits each, RF Chih-Hsien Chiang singled, and 1B Christian doubled. CF Dariel Alvarez was 0-for-3 with a walk. Catcher Michael Ohlman had the day off.

Frederick Keys @ Salem Red Sox - Suspended

This game was suspended after four innings with the score tied 4-4. It will be made up today, so I'll let tomorrow's recapper fill you in.

Delmarva Shorebirds 4, Hagerstown Suns 5

Last night was Hunter Harvey night, and the youngster didn't have his best night. He started out rough in the first innings with two singles, a walk, a wild pitch, and a stolen base allowed. But with the bases loaded and one out, he struck out the next two batters to keep the Suns from scoring. He retired nine of the next 10 batters he faced with six ground outs, but fell apart in the fifth inning. He got just two outs and gave up two singles, three doubles, a home run, and he threw another wild pitch. Rough.

The Shorebirds had nine hits on the night, same as the Suns, but just three for extra bases. RF Mike Yastrzemski had just one hit, but it was a triple. 1B Trey Mancini was 2-for-5 with a double, and LF Anthony Vega was 1-for-4 with a double. 3B Drew Dosch had a single and a walk. Catcher Chance Sisco went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts.
