Evan Habeeb-USA TODAY Sports

The Orioles officially open the second half of the season with a tough west coast swing that begins tonight in Oakland. You may recall, that the A's last visit to OPACY was not so pleasant. Hopefully, the drama is a thing of the past and the O's can do what they've done best this July: win.

On this day in 1964, the O's maintained their three game edge in the AL East with a 6-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers. Light hitting second baseman Jerry Adair homered and Milt Pappas scattered nine hitas and a walk over nine innings to secure his eighth win of the season.

It's the birthday of Rudy May.
