Toledo (Tigers) 1 Norfolk 2
(RHP) Tyler Wilson made his 4th AAA start. It would be the third of those in which he finished 6+ innings while allowing 1 or fewer earned runs. 7 IP, 2 H, 2 BBs, 1 ER, 8 Ks on the night for the 24 year old from UVA. (3B) Buck Britton bopped his 8th HR of the season. (1B) Christian Walker went 0 for 3 with a walk. (RF) Dariel Alvarez went 0 for 4 with a K. (LF) Quintin Berry stole his 20th base, while (CF) Julio Borbon swiped his 25th.
Harrisburg (Nats) 4 Bowie 3 (10 innings)
Matt Bischoff started and K'd 4 over 4 innings while allowing just 2 unearned runs via a HR. Jake Petit followed and K'd 4 himself over 3 innings. (1B) Chris Marrero blasted a 2 run HR for the Baysox in the 1st. (CF) Mike Yastrzemski and ( C ) Michael Ohlman each went 0 for 4, but Lil' Yaz did draw 1 walk.
Winston-Salem (White Sox) 3 Frederick 6
Mark Blackmar allowed 2 runs (1 earned) over 5.2 innings while striking out 4, walking 3, and hitting 1. (RHP) Jon Keller tossed 2.1 innings of relief, utilizing a mid-90s FB to K 5 in that span. He did, however, also walk 3 and allow 3 hits. Every hitter in the Keys' lineup got at least 1 hit. (CF) Glynn Davis went 2 for 5 and stole his 20th base of the season. (SS) Adrian Marin went 1 for 5 with an RBI. (1B) Trey Mancini went 2 for 5 with an RBI, but also K'd thrice. Your OF Assist of the day was provided by (LF) Michael Burgess who cut down a runner at home plate.
Hagerstown (Nats) 3 Delmarva 1
(LHP) Steven Brault allowed 3 ER over 6 IP. He struck out 4, walked 2, and hit 2. The top of the order did their part to try and generate some offense, combining to go 7 for 14 on the night, but to no avail. (CF) Josh Hart went 2 for 5, (2B) Jeff Kemp hit 2 doubles and went 3 for 5, and (3B) Drew Dosch managed a 2 for 4 night. But a 1 for 12 effort with RISP kept the Shorebirds from capitalizing and led to them stranding 10 runners on base.
Aberdeen 0 Mahoning Valley (Cleveland) 7
After a 6 game win streak to bring their record to a somewhat respectable, if still bad, level the Ironbirds have now lost 7 straight and stand at 10-26. The offense is inconsistent at best, with only (3B) Austin Anderson being in any way reliable. He went 1 for 3 with a double in this game and is slashing .327 / .362 / .436 over his 15 games. (CF) Jay Gonzalez went 0 for 4, but did earn an OF assist (his 5th) by throwing out a runner at 3B. (1B) Hector Veloz put together an 0 for 3 game.
