The Orioles and Red Sox split the doubleheader yesterday, but with the loss by the Blue Jays out west, the Orioles have pulled one game ahead of the Blue Jays for first place in the A.L. East. That's nice!
Today the Orioles will try to take the series with Kevin Gausman facing Jake Peavy. Will we see the Gausman who has dominated, or will we see the Gausman who struggles after being taken out of a regular routine? Regardless of which one we see, I hope we see Gausman again in five days.
The struggling Chris Davis is being given the day off, which could be for the best. At any rate I'd rather Nelson Cruz continue his domination of the Red Sox so that we can see which member of the despicable team from Boston steps up this time to call him a cheater.
