Ubaldo Jimenez still has his moments. There wasn't much Michael Choice could do about this pitch, looking high and inside before snapping down into the strike zone at the last moment.

UBALDO AND MIGO

Miguel Gonzalez is celebrating with Ubaldo after a great start. I thought they were revving motorcycles, but someone on Twitter said they are "leaning like a cholo". I didn't know what that meant. I'm pretty sure I still don't.  You can find the video if you Google for it, and maybe you can tell me if this looks cholo-y to you.

You think Steve Pearce might, you know, be a great baseball player? Hard to say. But he's winning us over and getting more people on #TEAMSTEVE all the time.

CRUZ IS IMPRESSED

Leonys Martin had the idea that someone should just go ahead and start catching these Cruz Missiles. Nelson Cruz gives some props to his former teammate for taking one off the board.

NOT-QUITE-CYCLE

Nelson Cruz was an always-elusive triple short of the cycle. The ball rolled to the wall in right field. He had a chance. He was running with all his might. He ended up with a five-hit game and a TOOTBLAN.

GOOD HUSTLE, OR SOMETHING

The Orioles bench, including a smirking Buck Showalter, were happy to congratulate Cruz on getting thrown out after questionable base running. After a five-hit game (four that actually helped the team) maybe he deserved it. Better luck next time, buddy! Just don't try it in a closer game.
