The weather looked dicey all night and finally after a two and a half hour delay, and about five different bouts of "alternative programming" the game between the Orioles and Nationals was called for the night. However, the game will not be made up right away.
At this time, the game will be made up on the fourth of August at Nationals Park. This was a scheduled off day for the birds between a home series against Seattle and a trip over the border to face the Blue Jays.
This is the fifth rain-out of the season for the O's; their second on the road after last week in Boston.
Just after the game was called it was announced that Bud Norris will take the ball tomorrow for the first game in Baltimore. Wei-Yin Chen is on the bump Thursday. So, everyone is just pushed back a day.
Same goes for the Nationals; Doug Fister is tomorrow, Gio Gonzalez on Thursday.
In other news, Adam Jones was named to the AL team for the Home Run Derby in Minnesota. Tyler Wilson pitched for Norfolk, going seven innings, allowing four runs on 10 hits, walking none and striking out three. The Tides lead Durham 7-4 at the moment.
Quick trip around the AL East: Yankees fell to the Indians 5-3, Tampa is up on KC 2-1 in the eighth, the BoSox are trailing the ChiSox 6-3, and the Blue Jays were taking on the Angels in a late start. A Toronto loss could extend the Orioles lead by a half game. Fingers crossed.
See you tomorrow, Camden Chatters.
