9:15 PM ET Update: Gary Thorne reports in the MASN broadcast that Manny Machado has been diagnosed with a right knee sprain, and will be re-evaluated tomorrow. While it will take a while to be certain, this certainly sounds less severe than some of the more serious possibilities. If this injury is truly a sprain with no structural damage, it may require nothing more than ice and rest, and a short DL trip, if any.
Original Story: Orioles third baseman Manny Machado left Monday night's game following a third inning plate appearance where he twisted his right knee. The severity of the injury is not yet known.

Manny Machado's 2013 season ended on a knee injury, but if there's any possibe comfort for Orioles fans at this early juncture, it's that the season-ending injury and surgery were on Machado's left knee, the opposite of the one he injured during tonight's at-bat.
The injury occurred at the plate, with the knee giving way underneath Machado on a swing against Yankees starter Chris Capuano. Chris Davis took over at third base in the game, which is still in progress.
We'll update this post as more information becomes available on Machado's injury.
