Norfolk Tide 3, Buffalo Bisons 2
The Tides scored three runs in the top of the ninth to come back and win this game. Dariel Alvarez doubled in one run and the other two scored on two wild pitches from former All Star Steve Delabar. It was a huge night for Alvarez, who had three of the team's seven hits, including two doubles.
Miguel Gonzalez started for the Tides and pitched three innings with just one hit allowed. He threw 27 pitches, 20 for strikes. Josh Stinson relieved him and pitched five innings with two runs allowed on four hits.
Bowie Baysox 5, New Britain Rock Cats 8
The big story out of this game was unfortunately the injury to Rock Cats' center fielder and top MLB prospect Byron Buxton. Buxton collided with the right fielder and had to be taken off the field in an ambulance. Buxton was reportedly unconscious for nearly ten minutes, which is terrifying. He has been diagnosed with a concussion. Right fielder Mike Kvasnicka suffered a hip injury.
On the field, Nick Additon gave up four runs in four innings and Marcel Prado gave up four in just 2/3 of an inning. CF Glynn Davis went 2-for-4 with a double and DH David Adams homered in the loss.
Frederick Keys 0, Wilmington Blue Rocks 4
Frederick Keys 0, Wilmington Blue Rocks 1
The Keys played a doubleheader last night and they were shut out and held to just two hits in each. In game one, Parker Bridwell pitched all six innings, giving up four runs on three hits and two walks. He did strike out nine, but two of the three hits were home runs. In game two, Brady Wager pitched three scoreless innings despite walking four, and Jimmy Yacabonis followed with two innings in which he just allowed two walks, no hits.
