Alvarez's hit streak carries on. Gregory Lorenzo can't make outs. And a couple of impressive starts in the low minors.

Charlotte (White Sox) 0 Norfolk 3

Dariel Alvarez, Christian Walker, and Jimmy Paredes each went 2 for 4 with a double. Alvarez and Walker each chipped in with an RBI while Paredes added a SB. Suk-min Yoon started and tossed 3 shutout innings, allowing 3 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3. Miguel Chalas handled the next 4 innings with aplomb, striking out 4 while allowing just 1 hit.

Bowie 4 Erie (Tigers) 2 /Game 1

Bowie 3 Erie 7 /Game 2

The Baysox blasted 3 solo HRs in game 1, courtesy of Buck Britton, Chris Marrero, and David Freitas. Mike Yastrzemski took an 0 for 4 at the plate but did earn an Outfield Assist after doubling up a runner off of 2B.

Chris Marrero added a 2nd HR of the day in game 2. While David Freitas managed a 2 for 3 effort. Otherwise, not much of interest actually happened.

Salem (Red Sox) 4 Frederick 5

The 1-2-3 slots of the lineup combined to reach base 7 times in 12 plate appearance, as Johnny Ruettiger, Adrian Marin, and Trey Mancini each managed 2 hit nights. Matt Taylor walked 5 over his 5 IP, but held Salem to just 2 runs in spite. Matt Hobgood allowed 2 unearned runs over 3 IP of relief.

Delmarva 5 Greensboro (Marlins) 3

Gregory Lorenzo now has 8 hits in his last 13 at bats after going 4 for 5 in this game. Josh Hart and Chance Sisco each chipped in with 2 for 5 performances as well. Drew Dosch took a rare 0fer for him, going 0-5. Mitch Horacek K'd 8 over 7 innings while allowing just 1 earned run. Over his last 4 starts he has allowed 9 ER in 25.2 IP while striking out 27 and walking 8.

Aberdeen 2 Hudson Valley (Rays) 5

2014 first selection (3rd Round) Brian Gonzalez made his A-ball debut for the Ironbirds an impressive one. He held the opposition to just 4 hits and no walks over 5 IP while striking out 6. And though he was charged with 2 ER, one of them came courtesy of an inherited runner at 1st that the 'pen could not strand. As ususal, Austin Anderson provided the only significant offense of the night for Aberdeen, going 3 for 4.
