Norfolk Tides 3, Durham Bulls 5

Steve Johnson allowed four runs in the first three innings and the Tides were never able to equalize. Johnson has walked 30 and struck out 32 in 38 innings at Norfolk this season. Robert Coello struck out four in two innings and Joe Saunders pitched a scoreless ninth.

Henry Urrutia is hitting .389 in his last ten games and had a pair of singles. His compatriot Dariel Alvarez doubled and walked. Christian Walker was held hitless.

Bowie Baysox 3, Erie Seawolves 0

Eddie Gamboa had his best outing since returning from a 50 game suspension. The knuckleballing journeyman pitched eight scoreless innings in which he allowed five baserunners and struck out seven. He yielded to Oliver Drake in the ninth so the Admiral could pick up his 31st save of the season.

Kyeong Kang homered for the fifth time in his last ten games. Garabez Rosa and Mike Yastrzemski were both 0-5, but Lil Yaz drove in a run and Rosa stole base and picked up an outfield assist. The catcher/DH formerly known as Michael Ohlman (please, call him "Mike") singled and walked.

Frederick Keys 10, Salem Red Sox 3

The Keys ran wild over the Red Sox. Adrian Marin and Trey Mancini each singled and doubled, while the Keys overall doubled twice more and walked six times, taking advantage of wild Sox pitcher Cody Kukuk.

Sebastian Vader matched Kukuk walk for walk as he issued five free passes of his own, but held the Red Sox to two earned runs. Vader hasn't allowed more than two earned runs in an outing since July. Dennis Torres chipped in three scoreless innings while Jimmy the Yak allowed a run in mop up duty.

Delmarva Shorebirds 1, Greensboro Grasshoppers 6

The decline and fall of Luis Gonzalez continued without interruption. Gonzalez gave up five runs in the first inning and six overall to make it the fourth straight outing Gonzalez has allowed SIX or more earned runs. Dios mio. He did strike out six and managed to stay away from the long ball. Local kid/former Indy leaguer Nik Nowottnick turned in his best outing since promotion to Delmarva. The Double N pitched two perfect innings.

The Shorebirds struck out eleven times wand walked none. Josh Hart singled and drove in the lone run. Creede Simpson had two hits.

Aberdeen Ironbirds 1, Lowell Spinners 13

Nobody told Lucas Long that batting practice was over. Long allowed nine runs in two innings and change. He was relieved by Nigel Nootbaar, who appears to be settling down after a rough start to the month.

I don't really want to talk about the rest, but if you're curious you can look at the...
