Norfolk Tides & Durham Bulls

(Completion of suspended game) Tides 4, Bulls 3

Most of the action in this one occurred on Saturday, but Michael Almanzar marked his return to the organization by hitting into a double play. Evan Meek picked up his 16th save.

Tides 9, Bulls 6

Not a game for those among you that favor pitching duels. Both teams combined for six runs in the first inning and Suk-Min Yoon allowed six runs overall. Yoon also allowed two homers. Matt Bischoff pitched three scoreless innings if relief allowing the Tides to claw their way back into this one.

The Tides were helped a long on that effort by Dariel Alvarez, who singled, doubled and walked and Henry Urrutia, who singled and tripled. Cord Phelps also doubled and tripled. Julio Borbon stole two bases and now has 34 on the year.

Bowie Baysox 8, Erie Seawolves 7

The Baysox weathered a rough start from Anthony Vasquez and walked it off with a three run ninth. Vasquez allowed seven runs and four homers in 5.1 innings. Mychal Givens (4 strikeouts) and Alex Santana were solid in relief.

Mike Yastrzemski is 2-24 in his last few games, but still managed to contribute a walk, a steal and a run. Despite picking up 17 steals earlier in the year, this was Yastrzemski's first at Bowie. Michael Ohlman singled, doubled and walked.

Potomac Nationals @ Frederick Keys

Keys 5, P-Nats 6

Matt Taylor was relived in the first without recording an out. Brady Wager soldiered through the next four allowing eight baserunners, but only one earned run.

Jason Esposito and Jerome Pena tripled for the Keys. Esposito's OBP has finally reached .300. Congrats, bud! Still impressed by that .359/.394/.580 slash line against lefties.

Keys 4, P-Nats 5

Esposito homered and doubled in this one off of righty/fictional character Dakota Bacus. Tough outing for MItch Horacek. The young lefty allowed five earned runs in six innings, but finishes his trial period in the Carolina League with 23 strikeouts in 25 innings.

Delmarva Shorebirds 6, Greensboro Grasshoppers 10

Three errors and two blown saves from the Shorebirds tell the tale here. Josh Hart singled walked and stole a base while Chance Sisco doubled and singled. Anthony Vega also hit his fifth triple in just 58 games for the Shorebirds.

Nick Cunningham took the loss for the Shorebirds and has pitched to a Matusz-like 10.09 in ten games for the Shorebirds.

Hudson Valley Renegades @ Aberdeen Ironbirds

Suspended in the 5th with the Ironbirds leading 3-1.
