The Orioles just swept a three-game series. The last time that happened, they promptly got themselves swept in a three-game series. Must balance be restored? Are the Orioles setting themselves up to get swept by the Rays in Tampa this weekend, or will they break out of the pattern of occasional disappointing performances against poor teams?
The Rays are a good pitching team. Offensively, however, it has been a struggle for them. They've scored the second-fewest runs in the AL, batting to only a .687 OPS. That's a full 50 points lower than the Orioles hitters, who have the third-best OPS in the league. Here's hoping that translates to a win on this Friday night. We need the Orioles help in order to do what must be done.
