Final makeup of Orioles' roster depends a lot on Ubaldo Jimenez - Baltimore Sun
"Ubaldo Jimenez isn't going anywhere — not with that untradable contract — but his performance over the course of the exhibition season will determine where he fits into the starting rotation and how Showalter will use Miguel Gonzalez and Kevin Gausman during the early part of the regular season."

School of Roch: Latest look at the lineup
"Orioles executive vice president Dan Duquette told me yesterday that he's still working on the spring training roster with manager Buck Showalter. The club is expected to add at least one more player to a minor league deal before heading south."

Steve Melewski: Taking a look at the top 30 Orioles prospects per Baseball America

When asked about this during FanFest, Alejandro De Aza said he didn't have any specifics or information to provide. "Honestly, I don't know anything about it. I only know about playing the game. The contract is between the front office and my agent," he said."

School of Roch: This, that and the other
"Dan Duquette estimated that the Orioles will limit Kevin Gausman to around 180 innings this season after the right-hander logged 158 2/3 in 2014, including 45 1/3 in the minors."

MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says MLB All-Star Game to be awarded through bidding process - ESPN
"One of the things that I am going to try to do with All-Star Games is -- and we'll make some announcements in the relatively short-term -- I am looking to be in more of a competitive-bidding, Super Bowl-awarding-type mode, as opposed to [saying], `You know, I think Chicago is a good idea,'" he replied.

2-7 Prep Roundup: Orioles claim conference title
Look! Other Orioles teams winning! It's contagious! "The Orioles scored 241.5 points as a team to take first place at the Cloverbelt Conference Wrestling Tournament ahead of second-place finisher Spencer, which had beaten the Orioles in a dual earlier in the season."

Happy Birthday to former Orioles the adorable Felix Pie,  Bob Oliver, and Hoot Evers.

On this day in Orioles history, in 2008, the second-best trade in team history was completed, as "the Baltimore Orioles deal Erik Bedard to the Seattle Mariners for prospects Adam Jones, George Sherrill, Chris Tillman, Tony Butler and Kam Mickolio. Bedard was leading the American League in strikeouts before a rib injury cut his season short. Jones is a former first-round pick who hit 25 home runs in AAA at age 22. Tillman was Seattle's minor league pitcher of the year in 2007." If you're only going to have one notable occurrence on a day, that's a pretty good one.

Halve a white onion and use a fork to rub it back and forth over the grates of a hot grill. The onion will clean the grates and add a little extra flavor.
