Happy Birthday to former Orioles Omar Daal, Larry Brown,  Bert Hamric and Howie Fox.

On this day in Orioles history, in 1893 - "John Pickett wins $1,285.72 in a lawsuit against the Baltimore Orioles, his most recent team. Baltimore had claimed that they did not owe him this sum - Picket's entire 1892 salary - because he "was slow in his movement, and had a sore arm which incapacitated him from being of service to the club." And although not Orioles news, but certainly relevant, in 2002, this is the day the Red Sox fired General Manager Dan Duquette. I'd say things eventually worked out for him.
