Orioles spring training game thread: vs. Rays, 1:05

The Orioles are back on TV in the Baltimore area with a MASN broadcast on Saturday afternoon against the Rays.

It is Pi Day, and the Orioles will be on MASN. That's not to be confused with Pie Day, which is any time Adam Jones feels like blasting one of his teammates post-game. None of that in spring training. It doesn't count. Also, even if it was the regular season, you can't pie anybody when the team is 3-9. I think it's in the bylaws somewhere.

Cuts are a-comin'. There will be pare-downs today and tomorrow, according to the O's reporters. Some people will probably be reassigned without even getting another chance to show their stuff. Others might get one last chance and even if they throw a nine pitch, three-strikeout inning, will still get reassigned. That list may include the PowerPoint genius of Hunter Harvey, who has a bright future, but still hasn't pitched above Low-A.

Here is your lineup for today, which has a reasonably strong resemblance to one that might actually be spotted during the regular season. That's an exciting prospect, unless they get shut out in which case it's more of a dreadful one. It's March 14 and it doesn't matter, but they're running out of time where that is an excuse.
