Orioles spring training game thread: at Red Sox, 1:05pm

No television and no radio for a spring training again makes Mark a sad panda. But you're probably watching basketball instead of wanting to watch the Orioles in the Grapefruit League anyway, right?

Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

This game will take place in the dark. That's not because it will take place at night, or because it will happen during the already-past solar eclipse of the morning. It will be in the dark because it is not on TV or radio anywhere. That's the second time this week for an Orioles spring training game.

This means that, while various scouts will get to look at how today's starter, Brian Matusz, does against the Red Sox, we will not have any judge for ourselves. Are the O's showcasing him for a trade? Are they trying to stretch him out as a long reliever? Do they really think they might actually use him as a starting pitcher again at some point in time? We'll find out, but not today, because there won't be any broadcasters to tell us these things.

You will probably observe that this is a road spring training lineup, but it looks like a fairly regular-season lineup for the Sox, other than the lack of David Phonebane. So good luck, Matusz!
