As spring training moves along, players at the fringe of the roster picture are steadily sent down to the minor leagues. Over the last couple of days, pitchers Mike Wright and Tim Berry were optioned to Triple-A Norfolk, along with outfielder Henry Urrutia. Also, Steve Johnson, who signed a minor league deal with a spring training invite, was reassigned to minor league camp.
All of that means there's progressively more and more playing time for the regulars, which is why you get a good chunk of the Opening Day roster even on a road game. Real baseball is just a little more than two weeks away. We're not there yet, but it's getting close to time where everyone needs to be ready to go. Nobody get hurt!
This game will be on 105.7 FM in Baltimore, and if you're an MLB.tv subscriber you can get a Minnesota TV or radio feed as well.
