Orioles split squad game threads: vs. Twins, at Blue Jays

Like it or not, there are two Orioles games today. Hopefully it's something to like.

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Sometimes in the regular season, you might get two games on one day as part of a doubleheader. You might even get two games one right after the other. Two games going on at the same time, well... that one is limited to spring training. That's what we're getting today as split squads of Orioles stay at home and head on the road to take on different opponents.

The home game will be on 105.7. The other one will not be on the air in Baltimore. The non-radio game will be the one where Ubaldo Jimenez pitches. He's supposed to get up to 100 pitches today, so it'll almost be like a regular season game for him. This could be either good or bad news.

There will be cuts after these games conclude. Supposedly it'll be five cuts, mostly position players, but I don't think the Orioles have actually made the number of cuts that beat writers reported even one time this spring training. Perhaps this will be the first time.
