Orioles Game 7 Thread: vs. Yankees, 7:05pm Eastern

The Orioles will get their first look at the Yankees of the season on Monday night. Wei-Yin Chen starts for the O's, with Michael Pineda going for New York.

Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

Last year's two top teams in the AL East presently find themselves third and fourth, respectively. Of course, it's only a week into the season and that could all very easily change in two days if other teams start losing and one or the other of the Orioles and Yankees take this series. The first place Red Sox have had the advantage of cutting like a scythe through the NL East in two of their first three series.

As for these two teams... oh my God, does that say Alex Rodriguez is playing third base in the lineup thing below here? It does! This could potentially be a glorious thing to behold. On the other hand, Yankees starting pitcher Michael Pineda has the potential to strike out a lot of Orioles batters, and last year he gave up ground balls only 39% of the time, so maybe the Yankees are banking on the Orioles either whiffing or putting the ball somewhere that is not the infield.

Elsewhere in the Yankees lineup is John Ryan Murphy, who apparently needs to go by three names. Which player on the Orioles do you wish also went by their middle name? None of them really seem to have the same roll-off-the-tongue quality.

This game will air on both MASN 2 and ESPN.
