Scranton/WB (Yankees) 2 Norfolk 6
Tyler Wilson scattered 7 hits over 6.2 innings of work while holding the RailRiders to 2 runs. He must have had some sink to his stuff, as he initiated 10 groundouts to 3 flyouts, and recorded 3 Ks. Pat McCoy came on in relief and K'd 4 over his 1.2 innings of work.
On offense, Christian Walker socked two doubles. Rey Navarro, Chris Parmalee, and Nolan Reimold each also had multi-hit nights. Though the Tides went an impressive 5 for 11 with RISP, they also GIDP'd thrice and ran into another DP when Henry Urritia was thrown out at 3rd.
Bowie 4 Altoona (Pirates) 7
Tim Berry held Altoona scoreless through 5 innings before things went pear-shaped for him in the 6th. He was living dangerously starting in the 3rd, though, as he allowed lead off singles in the 3rd and 4th innings as well as a lead off HBP in the 5th. But he ultimately emerged from those dalliances unscathed. Not so much in the 6th. He opened up the inning by allowing a single, then uncorked his 2nd wild pitch of the game, and followed that with his 2nd HBP issued. Another single loaded the bases before a double cleared 'em. Berry would allow another single before departing, having squandered a 4 run lead. Not to be outdone, the defense would later gift Altoona 2 runs in the 7th following a throwing error by Mike Yastrzemski, a dropped foul pop by 2Bman Garabez Rosa, and a fielding error by 1Bman Sean Halton; all on consecutive plays. yikes.
That early 4 run lead for the Baysox came about in the 2nd inning. 3 consecutive singles were followed by a Mike Yastrzemski bases clearing triple. Yaz would then come into score on a Glynn Davis single. But that would be it for the Baysox's offense production on the night. Ultimately, they would collectively strand 11 runners on base.
Frederick 1 Potomac (Nats) 5
The Keys' lineup was stymied by someone named 'Dakota Bacus'. Trey Mancini had a double and a single. And Drew Dosch did as he tends to do and recorded a single. But otherwise the offense was blah. Mitch Horacek went 5 and a third, allowing 5 hits and 5 ER while walking 3 and K'ing 8.
