It had Berger's cookies in the media dining room, the Oriole Bird dancing on the dugout to Thank God I'm A Country Boy during the seventh inning stretch, and the Orioles batting last, but, home is home, and Tropicana Field just isn't home. Also, the Orioles only got four hits yesterday, which kind of sucked.
Maybe today will be better with Miguel Gonzalez on the mound? It'll be tough for him to pitch much better than Chris Tillman did yesterday. One hopes the Orioles will do better against Chris Archer, but who knows, really.
By the way, Steve Pearce will be playing at second base for the second straight game. If ever there was any kind of decision that seemed like playing a game of Russian Roulette, that's it. Pearce did fine enough last night. The ball only came his way a few times. He tagged out a runner who was trying to steal and out by a mile. He fielded a routine grounder and threw to first. He also turned a double play when the catcher was running to first.
They can't possibly get away with this again, can they? Of course they can't, unless they do.
